4th Sunday of Easter Reflections
Grace to you and peace in our risen Lord Jesus Christ.
Please find attached a liturgy of Morning Prayer with the proper lessons for the Fourth Sunday of Easter.
The main news of the week is that Bishop Dietsche has announced that public in-person worship is suspended until at least July 1, subject to extension as conditions warrant.  It is becoming clearer, especially in New York City and surrounding areas, that even after public worship resumes, some limitations such as social distancing and masks will continue to be practiced until an effective vaccine is created and all have received it.  In the meantime, we will continue to connect in the ways we have - Zoom Bible Study on Wednesdays at 10:00am, my weekly video reflection, and a weekly email which will include the liturgy of Sunday Morning Prayer for use at home.  The Thrift Shop Giveaway events have been well received with at least 40 persons visiting each time so far and another is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, from 12 Noon to 2:00pm.  I expect we will schedule more giveaways through May and into June.  I continue to be in the office on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the church is available for personal prayer on those days, the vestry is meeting monthly on Zoom, and I welcome your donations of non-perishable food items to the office which are being taken to the food pantry at Red Hook United Methodist Church regularly.  Please contact me if you or a loved one are ill or in need so that I and we can pray for you and tend to your needs.
With prayers for your health and that we may receive with joy the abiding hope of the resurrection,
Br. Randy
